DAVID VESLOCKI

For decades, David Veslocki has been instrumental in developing first-rate young guitarists, both as founder of the Connecticut Suzuki Guitar Academy and through previous faculty positions at institutions including Fairfield University, Concordia College, and New York’s 92nd Street Y.
Guitarists who studied with Veslocki or came through his academy have earned prizes and distinctions at the Guitar Foundation of America, Boston GuitarFest, James Stroud Classical Guitar Competition, CSU Guitar Symposium, Rhode Island International Guitar Competition, and numerous other national and international competitions.
Among them, Noah Richer has won competitions at the CSU Guitar Symposium, Mid-Maryland Festival, Boston GuitarFest, Connecticut Suzuki Guitar Festival, and Kithara Project Festival, and was a 2025 James Stroud finalist and fourth-prize winner; Beckett Cerón is a 2026 YoungArts Winner with Distinction, NPR From the Top Fellow, Overture Awards finalist, and James Stroud national semifinalist.
Students from Veslocki’s programs have continued their education at institutions including the Eastman School of Music, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, New England Conservatory, Northwestern University, Belmont University, Dartmouth College, and others. With the opening of the Beverly Hills Guitar Academy, Veslocki is bringing that same developmental philosophy to Southern California: a world-class program focused on cultivating the next generation of guitarists and carrying forward the standard established by the Connecticut Suzuki Guitar Academy.
At our academies, the study of guitar has never ended at the studio door. For years, our students have traveled, performed, competed, recorded, and experienced music in the places where it truly comes alive—from sold-out performances at Carnegie Hall and concerts high above Manhattan at One World Observatory, to international performances at Palacio del Quintanar in Segovia, Spain, and immersive recording experiences on Nashville’s Music Row. These experiences are not field trips; they are part of the curriculum. Students learn what it means to walk onto an important stage, work inside a professional recording environment, travel as an ensemble, encounter musicians from around the world, and represent their craft beyond the practice room. The Beverly Hills Guitar Academy continues this tradition—developing not simply accomplished guitarists, but young artists who are comfortable taking their musicianship into the world.
